Transfer news: Arsenal submit bid, Chelsea consider three exits, Man Utd £70m deal | Football | Sport

Moises Caicedo has explained his decision to snub Liverpool for Chelsea in the summer after a recent jab by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

Earlier this week, Klopp joked with fans that Liverpool were lucky to miss out on some targets in the summer before going for alternatives.

The Anfield giants were in for Caicedo and Romeo Lavia before Chelsea won the race for both.

But Caicedo has claimed that Chelsea simply got to the front of the queue first.

He told Sky Sports: “I chose Chelsea because I was talking with them first and then it was impossible not to choose them.

“They were with me, supporting me because in the summer, I suffered a lot because it was complicated to leave Brighton.

“They were with me. At the last moment, Liverpool called me, but it was late. It was too late, you know?

“I wanted to play for Chelsea, and the people that worked here were with me through every moment, and it was tough to say no to Chelsea.”
